Picotin : baby mittens
Sometimes, we realize that we need baby mittens asap because fall is coming faster than we though. That’s why I created this easy and fast to knit pattern.

Sizes: 0-3 months (3-6 months)
Yarn: 40 (60) m of Aran wool (I used CASA by la Maison Tricotée). You will also need some contrasting yarn for the embroidery.
Needles: 4 mm dpn (or circular needles to work in magic loop)
Gauge: 18 stitches = 10 cm in stockinette stitch in worked in round

Instructions (knit two identical mittens)
Cast-on 28 (32) stitches. Join in round making sure you don’t twist your stitches. Place marker for the beginning of the round.
Work 8 (10) rounds in ribbing 1-1 (*knit 1, purl 1* repeat from * to *).
Work 10 (12) rounds in stockinette stitch (knit all stitches).
Decreases:
- *Knit1, ssk, knit 8 (10) k2tog, knit 1* x2

Cut yarn and thread through remaining stitches. Weave in threads.
Note: when you cast-on the second mitten, you can leave a 60 (75) cm long thread. It will be used to join both mittens together, so you don’t lose them.
Embroidery
Work an embroidery using the french knot technique. The knots don’t have to be perfectly spread! Once the knots are done, I attached the thread to many spots on the wrong side to be sure the little fingers don’t get stock in it.
